AFTER THE WATER IS GONE

From drying out to rebuilding.

Water damage reconstruction restores the building components affected by a leak, overflow or flood after the necessary cleanup, drying and remediation. Metrospec Construction rebuilds residential and commercial interiors in Greater Montréal, including drywall, ceilings, flooring, cabinets and finishes. The work begins with understanding what was damaged, what was removed and which areas are ready for permanent repairs. We coordinate the reconstruction scope with property owners and, for insured losses, the insurer or adjuster. If water damage has just happened or drying is still needed, call us: your inquiry can be directed to Metrospec Cleaning before the rebuilding stage.

THE RECONSTRUCTION SCOPE

Water can affect more than one surface.

A damaged floor can lead to repairs at the base of a wall. A ceiling leak can affect the room below. Reconstruction brings those connected components back together, with the scope based on the affected areas and the materials removed during cleanup.

01 / 06

Walls & drywall

Rebuilding affected walls, ceilings and drywall, with preparation for the finishes that follow.

02 / 06

Flooring

Replacing damaged or removed flooring and coordinating it with adjacent walls, cabinets and trim.

03 / 06

Cabinets & built-ins

Replacing affected cabinetry as part of the wider kitchen, bathroom or interior reconstruction.

04 / 06

Kitchens

Bringing damaged walls, floors, cabinetry and finishes together within the kitchen’s rebuilding scope.

05 / 06

Bathrooms

Reconstructing the affected room components once the required cleanup and remediation are complete.

06 / 06

Painting & finishing

Completing the visible surfaces, trim and finishing details of the reconstructed spaces.

For homes and commercial properties, the starting point is the same: identify the affected areas, agree on the work and coordinate the components that depend on one another.

FROM LOSS TO REBUILD

First the preparation. Then the permanent repairs.

STAGE 01 / 04

Confirm the starting point

Discuss the source of the loss, what cleanup and drying have been completed, and any remaining conditions that need attention before permanent repairs.

STAGE 02 / 04

Map the affected components

Identify the walls, ceilings, flooring, cabinets and finishes involved, including materials removed to access or dry damaged areas.

STAGE 03 / 04

Agree on the reconstruction

Discuss the repair scope, material selections, access and schedule. For an insurance claim, clarify the proposed work and payment arrangements with the relevant parties.

STAGE 04 / 04

Rebuild in a coordinated sequence

Coordinate connected repairs, from the affected building components to the final surfaces. Review any newly discovered conditions and discuss changes before proceeding.

WORKING WITH YOUR INSURANCE FILE

Clear roles. A shared understanding of the work.

A property loss brings several people into the same project. Knowing who handles each part makes the conversations about rebuilding easier.

You, the property owner

Share what happened, the spaces affected and the information you have. Discuss access, material choices and the needs of the people who live or work in the property.

Your insurer & adjuster

The insurer and adjuster assess the claim, the applicable coverage and the amounts available under the policy. Coverage decisions remain with the insurer.

Metrospec Construction

We discuss and carry out the reconstruction work within the agreed project scope, coordinating the affected building components with the parties involved.

Before authorizing permanent work, clarify the scope, budget and payment arrangements with the relevant parties. Additional improvements should be discussed separately from the insured repairs.

BEFORE WE SPEAK

A few details give us a useful starting point.

  • The property address and the rooms affected by the water.
  • What caused the loss, if known, and whether it has been addressed.
  • The status of cleanup, drying and any materials already removed.
  • Available photos, reports and insurer or adjuster contact details.

You can get in touch even if some details are still being worked out. Call for urgent assistance.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Before the rebuild begins.

Do you handle the emergency as well as the rebuilding?

Call us at any stage. Emergency cleanup and drying inquiries can be directed to Metrospec Cleaning. Metrospec Construction focuses on the permanent repairs that follow.

Can you rebuild while drying is still underway?

Permanent repairs depend on the condition of the affected areas and completion of the necessary preparation. Tell us what work is underway so we can discuss how the reconstruction stage fits into the project.

Does every wet wall or floor need to be replaced?

The reconstruction scope depends on the materials, the damage and the findings from the cleanup and assessment. Some components may be repairable, while others may already have been removed. Replacement should follow the needs of the specific property.

Can new flooring and finishes match the existing rooms?

We can discuss available materials and how the repaired areas connect to the rest of the interior. The original product may no longer be available, so selections and transitions should be agreed before ordering.

Will my insurance cover the reconstruction?

Coverage depends on your policy and the circumstances of the loss. Your insurer or adjuster can clarify what is covered. We discuss the reconstruction scope; coverage and payment arrangements should be confirmed before work is authorized.

Can we stay in the property during reconstruction?

That depends on the rooms involved, access and the conditions at the property. Discuss occupancy with the parties handling the loss and reconstruction. If temporary housing is needed, ask us about the assistance available.

AFTER THE LOSS. THE NEXT STEP.

Let’s plan what comes after the water.

Tell us which rooms were affected, what cleanup has been completed and what needs to be rebuilt. We’ll help you discuss the next stage.
